When it comes to fashion blogging I do really prefer to keep things positive
But I have a bit of grievance with this particular store
and I noticed a heavy increase in their promotions lately
so I thought now was the time to stop biting my tongue and air my views
The store in question is Romwe, sound familiar?
I know a lot of fellow bloggers are associated with Romwe
That was something I considered very hard when writing this post
I really hope it does not offend those bloggers, that is not my intention

That was something I considered very hard when writing this post
I really hope it does not offend those bloggers, that is not my intention
and I will not hold any personal grudges against those
who continue to work with them
All opinions in this post are my own
I was not asked to write this on any other companies behalf
I was not asked to write this on any other companies behalf
I could honestly find hundreds of examples of theft on behalf of Romwe
But for the sake of keeping the blog a readable length I chose to focus on leggings
The leggings are also the item they are using in their giveaways for promotion
Galaxy leggings were made very popular by Black Milk
So it's no surprise that other stores wanted to get in on the trend too
But the waist band area makes me sad, the difference in quality and fit is obvious
The lightening leggings by Black Milk were a special re-release of an old design
They sold these in celebration of reaching 200K fans on their Facebook page
The New York leggings by Black Milk were another special piece
Called "Skyeline" after their creator, a loyal customer called Skye

She came up with the concept for these leggings and was credited for that
The Cathedral leggings from Black Milk are so much more detailed
The Romwe replicas look a lot more "cartoony" and have a bad contrast in their colours
Der Kuss leggings with original art work by Klimt
Note in the Romwe leggings around the ankles, they are baggy and ill fitting

The Great Waves by Black Milk have very considerate placing to show off the print
You can see again a lack of such attention to detail from Romwe
I understand that Black Milk is expensive and why people want cheaper alternatives
But you get what your pay for, especially in the quality of these products
Romwe are able to offer their leggings cheaply because they use questionable labour forces
Where as Black Milk have ethical working conditions all located in an Australian HQ

Black Milk aren't the only leggings I found either
BOY London are facing a lot of counterfeit products lately
Original BOY leggings are cotton and not any kind of spandex
The Batman leggings by Lazy Oaf are officially licensed by DC Comics
Also the "Batmen" leggings by Romwe are printed upside down

These aren't thefts from multi-millionaire companies
These are thefts from small independent stores who rely on every customer they get

Something that hits me a little closer to home with this problem though
Is that they sold a T-shirt that used art work by my good friend Betty Turbo
Romwe were not the original printers of the T-shirt, the supplier is still unknown
and thankfully they have since removed the product from their site
But when questioned they never offered to help give details of the supplier
But when questioned they never offered to help give details of the supplier
and they did not apologise for using the art work without permission
So, for the reasons stated above I will boycott Romwe
Whether or not you do the same is entirely up to you
